Mountainside Services runs its daily operations on a Microsoft Windows 2000 peer-to-peer network. Their central file server contains financial data from a number of diverse businesses, and it is crucial that the company has immediate access to this data at all times – even in the event of a hardware or software failure. Mountainside Services searched for a reliable remote backup solution that enables lost data to be recovered instantly, is easy to administer without in-house IT staff, and uses the most secure encryption algorithms available.
After examining several backup solutions, Mountainside Services chose Storage Guardian to backup its data in the winter of 2003. After using Storage Guardian for two years with no issues, the company's primary file server malfunctioned and took longer than expected to be repaired.
